TXK node site

EQUIPMENT:  MFJ 1270C and a Midland 70-336A Commercial VHF radio (30 watts)

ANTENNA:  Ringo Ranger II VHF antenna

POWER:  Pyramid power supply with a backup generator for the whole site.

ERECTED:  This is the original site of the TXK01/TXK07 nodes put up around 19?? which served as a link between Arkansas and Texas/Louisiana packet systems. The node 01 node was changed to TXK and added to the APN in February 2002. The 07 node (1270C & Regency XL-2000) was also changed over to X1J4 and kept as a reserve unit.

COMMENTS:  This nodesite will serve as a secondary node to link users in the Texarkana area to the Arkansas Packet Network through SAR and SWA.
