City of Hot Springs / Garland County Tower Fails In Icestorm. It was 230' tall.

Picture 1 - South side of building, Bob-W5LVB & Jimmy-N5ZIV standing at about what was the 110-120' level of the tower.

Picture 2 - West side of building at base of tower, Bob-W5LVB trying to dig out the (unmounted, still on the ground)146.760 antenna out of ice under collapsed tower sections. There is aprox. 50-60' of tower wadded up in this small area.

Picture 3 - View from southwest corner of building looking north at base of tower.

Picture 4 - Southwest corner of building, tower at about the 100' level fell across the building.

Picture 5 - View from top of building looking west-northwest at top 90-100' of tower. Beacon platform and globe assembly at end of tower were undamaged. If you look closely, there is a dark / metal bracket lying diagonally near the far end of the white-painted segment of tower -- this is where the (borrowed)146.760 antenna was mounted and still functioning, even with the heliax wadded up and lying horizontal.
