COMMENTS:  The Conway complex is up on a ridge that runs east-west just south of Conway. The amateur radio stations are in a separate mobile home on the grounds. The W5AUU BBS is connected through a serial connection to a second computer that has 24 hour access to the internet. While the BBS can serve as a terminal to receive messages during an emergency, W5AUU is not manned until a request is made and operators are called to activate the station. This request would normally come from a county judge or his appointed emergency director. The purpose of the internet connection is to allow system operators to access the BBS remotely, and to allow the forwarding of messages from packet to the ADEM LAN via special gateway activated by special addressing of messages.
